Russell Martin was sworn in as Sheriff of Delaware County on June 4, 2012. In November 2012 he was elected to serve a 4 year term and in 2016 he was reelected to the same position.
Sheriff Martin brings to the office nearly 35 years of law enforcement experience. He is very familiar with Delaware County, having served with the City of Delaware Police Department for 31 years, the last eight as Chief of Police. Among his many past professional experiences he served as President of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police and as a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police. Both organization work to advance best practices in law enforcement and to develop law enforcement manages to best serve their communities. He and his wife Jill have been married over 35 years ahd ave resided in Delaware County for more than 30 years. She is a retired intervention specialist teacher, and together they have two grown children – both graduates of the Ohio State University.
In his role as Sheriff, Martin is working to restore integrity to the office, strengthen law enforcement partnerships and implement more cost-effective approaches to serving the public.
Virginia and Waren Miller, long time residents of Shawnee Hills, and Emeritus Members of the Shawnee Hills Chamber of Commercewere honored for years of volunteer service to the chamber.
